Copenhagen Fashion Week: Scandi chic but with a twist.
Copenhagen Fashion Week has taken the world by storm over the last few years. Mostly known for their Scandi styles and minimal silhouettes, this year, the regional style has some new additions that I'm sure we will soon be seeing everywhere. Here's the top trends spotted at this year's event.
Parachute Pants
We are taking it back in time. Back further than the 2000s, the latest decade to resurge back into the fashion world. We are talking about the 1980s., where the infamous pants first grew in popularity. Now they are back, and I say better than ever. Here are some examples of how you can make the billowing nylon pants a wardrobe staple.
Not Nanas knitting
Think crochet, elevated knits and everything in between. Crochet was already on the rise to becoming one of the hottest trends for this coming Spring and Summer. Copenhagen Fashion Week just made it a shoo-in for the top spot. In addition - oversized, over-the-top but still so overly chic knitwear. Knitted pants, knitted skirts, knitted tops - we saw it all.
Dresses over pants
Something that I thought would have stayed in the 2000s. Oh, how wrong I was. Honestly, it is better than I could have imagined. Could pants over dresses lead to the resurge of the tunic top? I say absolutely. If you are like me and assumed this could not come back, let alone look chic -take a look for yourself.
Barely sheer
The Dane’s left little to the imagination. They embraced the barely-there trend with open arms. Slinky, sheer silhouettes and cut-out tops. We saw it all, not literally but almost. Nevertheless, still done in the effortless, chic way the fashion icons of Copenhagen are most known to deliver.
It’s always hard to pick a favourite trend that derives from Fashion Week, but I do think mine would have to be the parachute pant. Something easy to add to your wardrobe. I don’t think you’ll see me wearing my dress over pants anytime soon. But, never say never. What looks from Copenhagen Fashion Week 2023 were your favourite? Let me know.
