Trend Spotlight - Tailored Suits
A trend that has been on the rise for the last few years and doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon, is suiting. Traditionally worn in a corporate setting, suits have made their way into street style and even everyday casual wear. I’m going to take you through the ways you can style a tailored suit from the office, out for drinks, and everything in between.
Street Style
Personally, I get a lot of my fashion inspiration from street style. Suiting is no objection. I love wearing a tailored blazer, with matching, slightly wide-leg pants, paired with a pair of chunky boots or white sneakers. Such an edgy way to style a suit and definitely a trend for 2021.
Just the blazer
A blazer has become one of those absolute staples for everyone’s wardrobe. A blazer is a perfect addition to any outfit. With jeans and a tee for a chic, casual look or over a dress with some boots for a night out. It is an easy way to elevate a basic look.
Just the pants
A tailored trouser has also been becoming increasingly popular. Pairing them with your favourite pair of sneakers is an effortless, model of duty look. Wearing a trouser with a high heel pump and a silky blouse is a perfect outfit to take you straight from the office to dinner.
As a dress
Another one of my go-to ways to style a tailored blazer, is as a dress. You can buy blazers with the purpose of being a dress or just go up a size or two in a classic, tailored blazer to give the illusion of it being a dress. Belt it around the waist and add some knee high, heeled boots for a luxe, trendy look. Or, wear open with plain slip underneath and some sneakers, casual but chic.
As you can see, the suit is a versatile addition to your closet! If you buy one suit, you can mix and match with so many other pieces, casual to corporate a blazer and trouser set is a must. What is your favourite way to style this? Let me know!
