15 Items to Get Your Closet Ready for Spring
With the vaccine administered and lockdown rules loosened, I just cant wait to be out soaking in the sun and Vitamine D. Though we are still in a snap lockdown, the weather is finally warming up which certainly calls for a wardrobe organisation. Here I round up 15 clothing pieces that will get your closet ready for spring. Who else is excited?
Tank Top
Starting with the tank top trend that is everywhere, it is definitely the no-fuss basic in your wardrobe yet can still be the statement piece.
A well constructed tank top goes with everything, from tailored pants to loose jeans, from chunky sneakers to sleek heels.
2. Basic T-shirt
How can we forget the all-year-round piece in the closet? They are without doubt comfortable and versatile with so many ways to dress up or down.
A basic tee literally could be worn to so many non-formal occasions creating different vibes, casual chic, sporty, you name it.
White button down / blouse
Similar with a good basic T-shirt, a white button down is always a timeless wardrobe foundation for any look you create.
You can always opt for a more feminine blouse depending on your overall style.
Cardigan / Knit
Spring weather can be miserable sometimes. The cardigan trend has been back in style for some time now and we all love it. They are for sure the perfect layering piece for a chilly day.
With thin knit like this, you could always play with buttons. Whether you choose to leave it all open or just unbutton a few, you’ll look chic either way.
Sweatshirt / Hoodie
I don’t think sweatshirts and hoodies will go out of style. In the “how to style long coat” post, I suggest to layer your sweatshirts under winter coats. Here, throw on a pair of biker shorts and you are all set for a spring sporty look.
Hoodies don’t always say sporty styles, dress up with a pair of tailored pants and blazer. How does that sound?
Blazer
My obsession with blazer is real. Instead a black blazer, a blazer with lighter colour and material would be more fit for the warm spring days.
Denim Jacket
For those who dress more casual, denim jacket would be a great option for transitioning seasons.
You could clearly tell from the two photos, It is perfect for styling. Whether it is with an elegant look or a head to toe sports look, it blends in effortlessly.
Trench Coat
Trench is the first thing coming to my mind when planning for spring wardrobe. It is definitely the “wardrobe classic” when you take a look at the closets of celebrities and fashion influencers.
Whether it is designed with oversized proportion or being classic, it does elevate the look immediately.
Midi Skirt
Let’s move to the bottoms. I am not a huge fan of mini skirts but I’m so drawn to midi skirts. That’s when I would love to play with patterns and prints.
With everything all neutral toned, the midi skirt draws all the attention and it does make the whole look more interesting.
Straight leg Jeans
I can’t talk about wardrobe staples without mentioning my favourite type of jeans, the straight leg jeans. Besides the classic design, the straight-leg fit looks flattering on most body types meanwhile elongating the proportion.
I certainly prefer light washed and white jeans during warmer months.
Leather Pants
A good pair of leather pants can last you forever, It surely is a winter-to spring piece, and definitely an elevated clothing piece in your wardrobe.
When throwing on a pair of leather pants, keep everything else minimal since it is already the statement of the look.
Wide leg Pants
Due to the fact that we have already stayed at home for over a year, comfort is what I look for when planning out my outfits. Being chic and comfortable at the same time? The answer must be wide leg pants. I’m pretty sure I will be wearing these looks quite often for spring.
One piece Dress (slip dress)
The slip dress trend is here to stay. It has been on the fashion radar for several years now. Wearing it straight away or as a layering piece, it just screams parisian chic to me.
Loafers
Coming to the shoe department, the loafers are all about style and functionality. It is such a good choice for off-duty days when you can just run around without any bruise on your feet.
Pairing socks with loafers adds another layer and dimension to your look, also socks with fun colours can be eye-catching.
Mules
Mules are the kind of shoes that are easy to slide on and you never want to take them off. The versatility of a pair of mules is so underrated. It can easily take a basic look to another level.
