Recreate Alexis Rose Style

Like a many people in lockdown, I discovered and fell in love with Schitts Creek! The hit Emmy Award winning series on Netflix follows the demise and rebuilding of the Rose family. We’ve all been asked what's that one thing you’d grab if there was a fire? Well for the Rose’s, it’s their fashion! While every character is brilliant, I have a big soft spot for Alexis Rose. She refuses to let small town life or practicality affect her fashion choices and clings to the designer pieces and OTT headpieces like relics from her past. 

The wardrobe for the show is genius! The budget per costume was about $200 but most include genuine designer pieces from pre 2015 (when the family lost their money). Balenciaga, Marc Jacobs and Saint Laurent are just a few of the names featured and were found by a team of stylists searching ebay and thrift stores acround the world. 

Alexis’s journey and her fashion throughout the series inspired me. I actually paused Netflix to take a photos of looks and used Trendii to find current options multiple times while watching the series. I realised I don't have a style team to help me recreate the looks but I do have Trendii. So when it came to writing this blog, I just had to take the chance to explore how to recreate Alexis’s style using the Trendii App! She warned us she’d be a little bit cray cray if we steal her look, but its too good not to try.

The Crowening Premier

Such a great episode and a shining moment for Alexis! Literally. I loaded this gold lame Saint Laurent dress into Trendii and discovered these and many other amazing options. Pay homage to this look for as little as $32! Personally I wouldn’t mind splurging on the one shoulder Dundas dress and the Jimmy Choos. I would get a nice cash back too it seems, but it just goes to show you can recreate a look on any budget.

The Little Bit Alexis Dance

This scene started a world wide craze! If you’re thinking of doing your own “little bit Alexis” TikTok here’s how to source your outfit. Don’t forget there’s a switch you can flick that will find you the look for less! You can also refine by sale items, premium brands and your location. You’ll be dancing like a Lamborghini and a Hollywood Star in no time.

Girl About Town

Boho chic, verging on Coachella VIP looks are the daily go to for Alexis as she struts about Schitts Creek. High heels are always a must even if matched with High Vis for community service. No matter how stressful her life gets, Alexis manages to maintain her designer yet effortless looking style. Theres so many options on Trendii and you can really choose any and nail it. Just order, add a messy top knot and a statement gold earring or a pair of aviators and you’re all set.

Mutt’s Barn Party

Just dropping in? Alexis does it in style! Even if she turned up in a day dress Alexis was bound to stand out, but she didn’t let that stop her from showing she knows exactly how to dress to impress. She looked absolutely chic under pressure in this scene. I love that the first option I found was actually called the Alexis dress! Matching a simple white dress with a patterned bag was a great choice too.

Back in Business

Once she started her own business Alexis updates her wardrobe with a few more budget friendly pieces. A lot of her Season 6 looks are from Zara and Top Shop but were sold out within days of these look airing. You might not be able to get the originals but Trendii will find you a great range of alternatives that are available right now.
