4 Outerwear Trends for Autumn/Winter 2021

One of my favorite things about winter is all the fabulous coats and jackets! Winter fashion in general is one of the reasons I live in Melbourne Australia with its cool climate. There is so much fashion fun to be had with layered looks. A statement coat can really bring a look to life and it’s the perfect way to play with trends and looks that are a little extra!

Faux Fur Trim

The Saks Potts coat as seen on Katy Perry, Kylie Jenner and Bella Hadid has sparked a Faux Fur trim trend. If these neon and bold colours aren't for you, natural fur trims are also in fashion. Anything from black ro shade of cream and white, long fur to short shearing style contrast collar and lining.

Camel Coats

Camel, Tan & Beige coloured coats are really on trend. They bring a bit of warmth to a winter wardrobe, go great with neutrals and provide a classic alternative to black. The always look chic and elegant no matter what fabric option you opt for. The classic wool coat is a great option but the teddy bear look gives it a trendier twist.

Puffer Jackets

The puffer jacket has been around for a while but it's booming in a big way with colours and prints! I’m also a fan of the cropped puffer that has taken off this season. There are so many variations from cropped, to full length belted coats and you can even combine trends with a faux fur hood. Be adventurous and express yourself with printed puffers. The bonus to this trend is that they are super warm and cosy!

Quilted Coats

I'm not going to pretend there is a huge difference between quilted and puffer jackets but the quilted jacket has quite a distinct look. This trend has been inspired by the ever stylish Queen Elizabeth! That's right, the 95 year old is a big fan of this style of jacket and its often associated with country and equestrian style. While it may look familiar in navy and forest green, it’s now springing up in a variety of colours and bold and bright, as well as more traditional options.

It’s always worth investing in a great outerwear but no mater what your budget you’ll find these trends at every price point.
