2021 SPRING / SUMMER TRENDS - ON CURVES
Bringing the top trends of Spring/ Summer 2021 to our Trendiis! Even though recent fashion seasons were digital and a little different, we were still able to see clear trends appearing from designers, as they adapted in a changed world. It’s true these trends reflect the times in which we live, embracing the new day to to life for many and using this influence in both a literal and abstract sense. The idea of comfort and ease has influenced cuts and styles while there is still hope and aspiration to be found in Spring / Summer collections. Playful and fantasy inspired fabrics, perhaps influenced by the escapism of Netflix and a hope for sunnier days spent outdoors, can be seen in many collections.
These looks are for everyone but just for a change I wanted us to see them on curvy girls first, like cover image model @suzie_stevens. There is a lot coming our way but lets explore some of the top 2021 Spring / Summer trends.

PASTELS
Peaceful pastels will be hot for Spring / Summer. Perhaps to remind us of the outdoors and beautiful flowers we can appreciate now more than ever or to help us keep calm and practice a little self care. Either way there are some gorgeous pastel tones coming your way. Lavender will be everywhere, as will Sky Blue and Lemon Yellow!
LOOSE FIT PANTS
The relaxed fit will be seen most obviously in pants this season. After years of skiny leg and skin tight leggings, we are seeing the inevitable transition to a wide leg or straight leg styles with the post lockdown desire to keep comfort a priority. Anything from a cropped straight leg pant to a more 1940s style wide legged floor length style with be perfectly on trend.
RELAXED FIT SEQUIN
We still love a sequin and now more than ever we need a little sparkle in our lives. This disco era glamour is still hot in 2021 but it’s been given a post Covid revamp, like many things these days. This season expect to see the fabric in loose leg pants, long line slouch jackets and flowy tops, as those comfort cuts sooth any potential anxiety around heading back to the dance floor.
THE SHEER MAXI
Chiffon and sheer Maxi’s are the thing to wrap your self in! That etherial looking, slightly see through fabric with flowy hems and sleeves lets us escape reality with a little fantasy. Patterns can be as bold as you like but keep them small to medium size designs for the most flattering effect. Just keep in mind when the suns shining behind you you might be creating a different kind of fantasy!
BRA TOPS
This may not be what everyone wants to hear after months at home but the micro crop or bra top is here. Use it as something to aspire to, or to show off your post lockdown bod, whatever that looks like and just love yourself for making it this far. If you’re not sure how to pull this look off, there’s a couple of guidelines to keep in mind. Nothing too lacy or it will look like you’ve just forgoten to wear a top. Frills make it flirty and will give you a little extra coverage if you want. Pair it with a high waisted bottom to play with proportions and keep the attention on the top.
