The Corset Trend is Here to Stay
We’ve certainly seen a lot of clothing pieces designed with the twist of lingerie in the recent years. Who can still recall the big slip dress moment? Looks with slip dress are everywhere even till today. Lately I’ve noticed that the corset trend is rising fast to the top. Talking about corset, it seems sexy and pretty but not so practical for most people so today I will be bringing you some inspirations on how to style a corset.
DAY TO NIGHT
How easy it is just to throw on a set of suits over your corset? It is not so appropriate to wear to your office but here is how you can rock the corset from day to night.
Put on your regular white / back shirt over the corset and dress it as your lingerie during work hours, take the shirt off when going to night parties when the corset becomes the statement piece of your whole look. It definitely is the more conservative way to style a corset.
For a more casual and chill look, replace your blazer with any kind of casual fitting jacket and pair it with your jeans. Throw on a pair of sneakers for the ultimate casual look or heeled shoes for a more elevated look.
ROCK IT!
Be bold and brave, how about wearing it on its own? The mint green corset below is too cute with denim jeans. You know how much I love this colour combination. The silhouette of a corset is more on the elegant and sexy side, which needs something casual to balance it out in order to pull off an everyday going out look.
If you think a corset with classic design is a bit too much, then how about a design that is more modern and minimal? By comparing both looks, you can notice that the one Bella Hadid wearing is definitely more sporty chic. It is totally up to you whether you want to dress it more feminine or sporty.
LAYER IT
Layered looks has stayed trending till today. Combining two trends sounds like a perfect idea, especially with those more feminine designed corsets. Whether wearing an oversized shirt or a fitted knit, it screams modern day elegance to me.
Or dress like below, the perfect style to rock feminine and cool at the same time.
SURPRISE!
The corset first became popular in 16th century in Europe as a supportive undergarment for women, and some men.
With the change of era and fashion, it becomes more popular to wear it as an accessory meanwhile maintaining its supportive function during modern days. I never thought wearing a corset outside an one piece dress could be so flattering and practical. It cinched the waist creating curves for the body while adding a bit some some to the look.
Now you have it, my corset style inspirations to you. Corset is not only a piece of supportive undergarment that is restricted to be in the lingerie category, it can be dressed up or down depending what you pair it with and how you dress it.
Enjoy the trend! xx
