TOP 10 EMILY IN PARIS LOOKS
Bonjour Trendii readers! Anyone else dropping french words into everyday conversations after watching Emily in Paris? Just me?
There’s a fair bit of controversy around new Netflix series Emily In Paris, but one thing everyone can agree on is that there is much to discuss when it comes to the fashion in the show! Pick any character and I could talk about their style for days! Camille’s masculine yet chic looks, Sylvie’s sophisticated and slinky style (that green asymmetrical dress!) or Julien’s outstanding stand out from the crowd suits, but obviously the star of the show is Emily. With that in mind I’ve chosen my favourite 10 looks from Emily’s Season 1 adventures, starting with number 10. Don’t forget to use the Trendii app to find current versions of the looks you love.
10. THE ALL FUSCHIA LOOK
This colour and this much of it brings me joy. What I am loving is that coat! It even gets two appearances in the series and is worn with a far more casual outfit when Emily meets Camille buying pink roses. The shoes are stunning too with their wide stiletto and that iridescent satin, though the shoes and your ankles would be ruined if you actually spent a day in Paris in them. Im even ok with the socks in a slightly differs shade, not everyones style but I think they made it work.
9. THE YELLOW SILK DRESS
This silk dress is such an elegant summer look! The pattern and the black belt really elevate it from the basic plain silk strappy dresses that have been so popular. The bag in a similar colour with clashing pattern also makes this feel more high fashion. I love how they’ve use black accessories with such a light summer dress. It really makes a statement. Also every time I see this dress now I want a Pain au Chocolat! (Chocolate Croissant) ep1.
8. THE INFLUENCER
As Emily spends more time in Paris her look starts to refine a little. When she becomes an accidental influencer she is invited to her first Parisian influencer event and looks tres chic in this. I love the 1960s style green coat with the plaid peeking through. Not sure I love the boots but Emily does love clashing patterns and they do give the whole outfit a modern edge.
7. LET THEM EAT CAKE
Emily wears this look when on the hunt for a cake. Such a great scene (ep3) and it goes over a treat with Luc & Julien, and in my opinion this outfit is a bit of a treat! Featuring a floral dress by Australian brand Aje and then teamed with a leather jacket and Vivienne Westwood boots that look like melted frosting. The sprinkle on top is the now out of stock, blue Channel purse. It’s a cute look that again clashes textures but works because of the pastel tones.
6. BERET ON TOP
I adore this look but lets just get one thing out of the way. Warning! Do not wear a red beret in Paris! It is the ultimate cliche and screams “I’m a tourist”! Anywhere else on the other hand, go nuts. They are still sold in most department stores, I tried one on recently and I’m actually a fan! I love the red with this black and white gingham and women’s short suits are so on trend at the moment! I may have purchased my own gingham short suit after seeing this. It’s just too cute! Love the paitent leather shoes too!
5. J’AIME LES BOTTINES
I like boots! And these boots in particular. Especially through the cooler weather the high heel ankle boot seems to be a staple for Emily, though we rarely see the same pair twice. Where she keeps them all in that tiny apartment is anyones guess, but like in Sex and the City days we will happily ignore the practicalities and realities of this expensive and expansive wardrobe. I love the lilac touches in this look and the bold colours. Not going far without patterns, Emily adds another gingham short and a few stripes in the cardigan for good measure.
4. CHAMPANGE
This look doesn’t get a lot of love online but I think it’s one of her bests! Sure we wouldn’t all wear a pair of forest green Louboutins to a country estate, but the straight leg jeans with the white blouse with the cropped tartan jacket are a gorgeous combination. Its sophisticated and stylish but casual and comfy and oh so Parisian. I feel like she finally got Paris style when she wore this.
3. THE AUDREY LOOK
Such a gorgeous and timeless look for a trip to the Paris Opera House. This off the shoulder black a-line dress is such an elegant classic but it is still very Emily with its subtle chevron pattern. I love everything about this look. The shoes with a touch of sparkle the disco ball style hand bag, the red lip and the tribute to Audrey Hepburn on the same steps with the same hairstyle. Also a big fan of using a necklace as a headpiece!
2. THE SUMMER MINI
Perhaps an unusual choice to put so high but this is one of my favourite dresses from the whole season. Would wear, must have! The delicate floral pattern and the cut of the dress are classic but again the fitted mini dress with a black patient belt give it a modern edge. This is the best image I could find of it but check out ep3 for the full look with cute green heels. Fit for french class, a long lunch and a french business meeting. The off the shoulder puff sleeve is a flattering neck line for most and it’s playful and fresh with a sexy silhouette.
1. THE ULTIMATE LBD
This is my number one pick from the season. Im always won over by a tule and this is such an elegant dress! Its classic but not Ringarde! Emilys put her stamp on it again with her black patient belt and has hit the brief on the head for what to wear to an elegant perfume party. It’s whimsical and elegant and is the ultimate little black dress. Worn with perfume & champagne you’d be the star of any party or tv show in this look!
