ULTIMATE SWEATER VEST LOOKS

SWEATER VEST TREND

I bet you have seen this trend at least once come up on your Instagram feeds. This trend all started a few months ago when people started to wear “nan” type sweaters over the top of teeshirts & long-sleeve button-up shirts.
It’s a look I am definitely obsessed with at the moment! i’ll be showing you the top three ways to style these statement pieces as well as little tips and tricks that I use for this look.

ULTIMATE SPRING LOOK 
This look is one that is breaking the internet! its the “ knitted sweater vest paired with a white button-up shirt” it’s pretty simple right? but there are so many ways up the style this look to make it super chic!
I try adding some chunky shoes and some classy jewellery, I love this look with an up-do hairstyle using a 90s style claw clip. I am loving this look with just a cute solid colour sweater. Make sure you have a white button-up shirt that is long enough for it to be a dress, or you can add a pair of basic coloured bike shorts if you prefer.

ULTIMATE WINTER LOOK
I am obsessing with the winter version of the sweater vest look! its a more “streetwear” look so not everyone’s style but I’m sure after you see the many ways to style this you might change your mind.
Try getting a patterned sweater vest for this look I am loving the houndstooth pattern at the moment the best, adding a long sleeve white top or button up, adding your FAVOURITE pair of baggy boyfriend jeans and chunky white sneakers, wearing your best vintage sunglasses you can find! this look will have people turning their heads ( in a good way ) while you walk down the street strutting your stuff.

ULTIMATE SUMMER LOOK
okay okay, the moment we have all been waiting for! The summer look! as we now approach summertime i can already tell this is going to be the look of the season! Pull out your favourite white tennis skirt ( or whatever colour you fancy ) adding a baggy white tee shirt to this, you want the sleeves to come down just above your elbows for this look it adds an extra statement to the whole look! adding your best sweater vest, dad sandals, some chunky jewellery as well as some hoop earrings to add a sexy vibe. As its summer and its hot add the same 90’s claw clip as the spring look! love this look with a pair of vintage small frame sunglasses.

QUICK LITTLE DIY
I’m going to tell you the best tip if you can’t find a sweater vest you love!
Buy a cute knitted jumper that you’re obsessed with and then get a pair of sizers out! yep, that’s right sizers. You’re going to want to find the seam on the top part of the sleeves, you’re going to now cut it but the trick is cutting it just before the seam so you’re leaving a tiny edge on it so it does not fray!
DO NOT TRY THIS UNLESS YOU ARE CONFIDENT WITH SEWING & DRESSMAKING! ( i will be doing reels on all of these looks as well as I will be doing a “DIY SWEATER VEST” reels in the coming weeks so stay tuned for that so you can see how it’s done before you try!
