90’s Fashion Overload
90s Fashion Overload
90’s fashion trends are making a big come back in 2020 with all the bright colours, cool prints and comfy outfits I just can’t get enough of the classic trends from the chick flick films. As a young adult I wish I had been a part of the iconic Mean Girls and Clueless era as I just missed out but as it does fashion is making a comeback and it’s time to use those trends in our current wardrobe. The 90’s was full of unique patterns, prints, colour tones, and material types. I’m going to be showing you some of my favourite outfit combos inspired by that generation.
STRAIGHT LEGGED DENIM
You can never go wrong with blue denim wide or straight legged jeans styled with a cute crop top. The most iconic tops are generally pastel colours, tie up fronts and basic white singlets. This can be also worn with a crop sweater, cardigan or even a matching denim jacket to finish the look off.
OVERSIZED TEE & SWEATSHIRTS
Oversized tees can be worn for so many occasions depending on how you style it. Could be a simple cute and comfy look worn as a dress or tucked into baggy jeans for a casual day with the girls or a lunch date. You could dress it up with heels or boots with leather jacket for a night out on the town. Another great way to style an oversized tee is over a turtleneck which is a great way to layer your closet.
For Winter vintage Sweatshirts are so in at the moment so if a t-shirt doesn’t suit the season maybe try spicing up your closet with a big sweatshirt instead.
MIX & MATCH
Matching sets are so in fashion at the moment as they have inspired by the 90s. Made in all materials such as denim, latex , pastel colours, leather and patterns like floral, tie dye, leopard, plaid, pastel and neon’s. the main iconic set from the 90s in the yellow plaid skirt and blazer from clueless but let’s talk about some of my other favourites. Currently love the flare leg pants matched with a spaghetti strap crop top or I also love cute mini skirts with a slit matching with a turtleneck or tie up top.
MUST HAVE ACCESSORIES!
Let’s talk about those essential accessories that top off your outfit with that 90s touch. With any outfit you can always add shoulder bag to carry around your essentials as well as looking cute. These bags are super trendy at the moment and easy to get your hands on. Another go to is big or small hair clips and funky hair ties that just add some fun to any look. Lastly tinted glasses that will really add colour and personality to any look whether it’s festive and casual!
