Styling Your Summer Boho Pieces in Winter

Styling Your Summer Boho Pieces in Winter

Trendii Boho Styling for Winter

There’s nothing worse than looking through your closet and realising that all of your favourite pieces are meant for warm weather, and it’s freezing outside.

With the rise of “Boho” style, and popular fashion labels like ‘Spell’ and ‘Arnhem’ becoming incredibly popular, more and more people are transforming their entire wardrobes into bohemian dreamlands. While these light and flowy pieces might be perfect for a Summer day, the items usually don’t come to mind when you’re trying to dress for cold weather.

It’s not realistic to have an entirely different wardrobe selection for each season, and it’s really not necessary. Not when you can easily turn your Summer outfits into Winter with just a few extra staple pieces.

Below I’ve rounded up some great examples on how people have styled their favourite boho outfits so that they can be worn all year round.

The Essentials

The first step in turning your summer wardrobe into Winter is having a few key Winter pieces. Choose well made, long-lasting pieces in neutral colours that will pair with any of your brighter statement outfits.

  • A Chunky Knit Sweater

  • Long Sleeve Skivvy

  • Stocking or Tights

It’s All About the Layers

The key to any good winter outfit is layering. Having a few staple pieces in your wardrobe for layering is an absolute essential. One of my favourite ways to get an outfit cold weather-ready it to wear a long sleeve underneath.

Skivvies under summer dresses is a trend that has come back into style and I love it! It helps to make your wardrobe so versatile.

Jumpsuits and playsuits can be perfect for Winter as they are very easily layered. Tights can be secretly worn underneath jumpsuits. Making them instantly warmer without affecting the overall aesthetic of the outfit at all.

Throw on a Chunky Knit

Sweaters are a great piece to wear on top of any of your summer dresses. As they’re covering up so much, you can also combine them with layers underneath that might not necessarily be matching, just for the sake of being warm.

QUICK TIP: Belt your dress around the middle, wear a sweater over the top and then tuck the knit slightly into the front of the belt to give the illusion that you’re wearing a skirt and sweater combo.

Just Grab a Jacket

The last stop on the list and probably the most straightforward, never underestimate the power of a good jacket! Magically turn any Summer outfit into a cosy Winter one with this simple addition. When it comes to styling boho pieces and jackets, I love a contrasting look! Pair a black leather jacket and boots with a summery dress. Or if you’re hoping to match the vibes, nothing goes past the suede and faux fur lined dreams of the “Almost Famous” style coats.
