Our series on Sex Education style continues, this time with Eric Effiong. A character who has become an inspiration for many, with some ground breaking and progressive LGBTQI story lines. The hit Netflix show has just dropped a hotly anticipated season 4, so it’s the perfect time to talk about the iconic and evolving looks from some of our fave characters in the series. Each character stands out in their own way by embracing a clear personal style and we’ve come to love the looks as much as the characters themselves.

This week's focus is the fabulous and resilient Eric Effiong. Eric’s looks are a reflection of his Nigerian heritage and and a celebration of his queer status. The monarch of pattern clashing, his looks are bright, bold and bubbly with an athletic element. Think 80s parachute tracksuits . Eric also explores his gender fluidity throughout the series as he plays with elements of drag and genderless dressing. To achieve the perfect Eric Effiong look you can't go past bold pattern on bold pattern. Think bold bright colours with darker masculine undertones. Purple is also a nod to the LGBTQI community so is a perfect place to start.

LOOK 1

Inspired by Eric’s iconic Purple Parachutte jacket, This look plays with Pattern clashing to the max. Incorporating a nod to the leopard print he incorporates in a number of looks as well as the tiger jumper seen in the show with a checked pant that is very Eric!

LOOK 2

A lighter option incorporated this floral Tee and check pant seen in the show. I’ve teamed them with a denim bomber and a paisley converse linking the floral pattern in the top. I’ve added a scarf as a nod to the ep where he wore one to impress Rahim. Personally I liked the look!

LOOK 3

While pattern clashing is Eric’s forte, occasionally he opts for head to toe pattern suit options. These are some I found inspired by looks from the show. The pink floral & leopard print were seen in the series and the rainbow sequin is inspired b the rainbow sequin bomber jacket Eric wears.
